Developing Resilient Communities

Empowering Communities Since 1982

The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) is a non-profit organisation, established in 1982 to improve the quality of life of local communities in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. AKRSP has been working in close partnership with the government and communities across all ten districts of Gilgit-Baltistan and two districts of Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and expanded its programmes to Sindh in 2024.

It operates across key thematic areas, developing community-driven solutions to address the diverse needs of local communities. The success of this model has inspired its replication across Pakistan and beyond.
